Focus on What You Really Want.

| February 26, 2013 | 3 Comments More

When you try to change in order to get rid of negative feelings or situations, you will slip up as soon as things get a little better. This type of motivation almost never leads to lasting change. Instead, focus on what you want (for example, to be healthy and have lots of energy), not what you don’t want (to be overweight, and weak). If you focus on what you really want, you will continue to make the right choices to help you get there.

So true! All about fundamental choice.

Totally agree. Whenever I find myself focusing on what I don’t want, I realize it is a negative frame of mind. I try to remind myself of the things I do want for myself, my life and my health and feel able to accomplish anything. When I focus on the negative and what I don’t want, I feel overwhelmed and work to try to get rid of that feeling, which does not last long and as soon as I feel a little better I relax and don’t continue working towards what I want. It’s the reason we give up quickly and don’t reach our final goals. Thanks Dr. A for helping me realize that!!
