Dr. A: Scholar in Residence

When I first designed the Habits of Health System, I built it on time-tested principles of creating health, combining my own experience as a critical care physician with the latest medical research. As the Habits of Health continue to evolve, the core concepts of the system have remained largely unchanged, but new discoveries in medicine combined with more than a decade of working with over 100,000 clients has helped optimize and elevate the system.

My pursuit has always been to help as many people as possible create optimal health, and I’ve known from the beginning that no one can change the world alone. Partnerships with like-minded individuals are crucial. From a network of passionate health coaches to some of the world’s top innovators, the Habits of Health grow and improve as more people join the mission of transforming our world.

In this spirit, I’m excited to announce that I will be working with Mount Saint Mary’s University (MSMU) in Los Angeles, Calif. as a Scholar in Residence.

As part of their ongoing efforts to enhance the lives of their students and to prepare them for rich, vibrant futures, MSMU is launching a wellness movement to improve the health and wellbeing of students. For my part, I will be:

  • Conducting virtual as well as in-person lectures for MSMU’s Peer Wellness Advocates. These lectures incorporate a significant amount of Q&A time so that the instruction can be more personal and customized to the challenges these Advocates encounter on campus.
  • Designing a multiyear research project on wellness involving University students. This research is an opportunity to refine the Habits of Health while at the same time transforming the lives of students.

I’m honored to be a part of this work and excited to share the Habits of Health with MSMU. Even though they invited me as a teacher and as a mentor, I’m looking forward to learning from the good people at MSMU and from the experience of working with their staff and students.

Expect more updates on this work as the instruction and research develop!
