How Do You Take Control of Your Health?
We have grown up thinking that modern medicine will fix us when we break, and it has created a society looking for a cure. Our responsibility in terms of our health is limited to making symptoms go away. If you have a headache – take an aspirin. If you have a skin problem – put a cream on it.
We spend little time wondering what is the underlying cause of our symptom and our medical professionals are following that same approach. It is important to understand that the world you live in today can have a profound negative influence on your physical health if you let it.
The world is full of toxins, pesticides, transfats, nutritional pollution, environmental influences, and energy dense fat laden food. Add a lifestyle which stresses our body beyond its limits in term of how we work, commute, live, and interact and we are certainly not happy much less thriving.
Our world is changing so rapidly that humans have been unable to adapt and are seeing the quality of their lives surveyed to be of a lower level than their parents. This does not bode well for our future!
